I was tasked with developing a new identity for Burnley Arts Centre, a professional arts venue. I began by basing the identity on a harmonious colour palette which can be reproduced both on screens and in print.

I designed a clean logotype with three lines set in three different shades of these colours, alongside a set of design guidelines, which cover the typefaces, colours, styles, icons and logos to be used to form both the new brand.

The new design uses simple geometric shapes to build elements such as this set of fun staff icons.

I set out with the aim of ensuring that the website be accessible on an array of screen sizes, and so the site adapts beautifully across devices.

The design delights with small details, like elements changing colour as a user moves through the pages, with the entire platform coded by myself.

The reversible brochure incorporates workshop and booking details on one side, and professional theatre on the other, all linking to the new website.

The website and brochure are updated three times a year, so I spent time planning and programming the two templates to speed up turnaround.

It was a great opportunity to work with one of the highest regarded youth arts organisations in the county, and I take great satisfaction from the knowledge that my work with the charity will enable one of the largest and most well respected youth arts organisations in the county to better engage with its audience.
